my starfish was missing a leg and for like couple days ive had him for about 1 month and today i came home i found him torn in half.. o.o could it of been my hippo tang???

I have had the same issue and then they tend to die. I didn't have a harlequin shrimp and never really have had luck with sand shifting starfish in the past.

no never purchased one i just recently got my blue hippo 6 inch for like a week and my ss started loosing one feet then cut in half...

doubt it's the tang, probably lack of food, they have a poor survival rate. Once they have wiped out your pod population, they usually don't last...

dang it i have bad luck wif sand swifters my diamond goby i put in the tank for one night tmr mornning he disapeared i put a lid on top checked around the floor nothing weird and now this sucks for me

my sand sifting stars have lost a few of their limbs but they're still alive for now. I never could understand why they start losing their limbs.

I found out why my sand sifting star lost a leg.... MP10
One of mine decided to go near my mp40 and by the time I found him, one of his legs was cut off :(. I now have the foam guards for cases like that as well as to protect my nem in case it decides to go on the move lol
