Hey everyone wanted to post this here and if you can help me out and share this in any other forum or market place.

Please be aware and take caution if someone using this profile contacts you.
Alaji35

Unfortunately and as embarrassing as it is to say, they guys scammed me for a lot of money, 500$. I was looking for a biohazard bounce mushroom when this guy Alaji35, DM’d me saying he had a friend who had one for sale and shared his email address Tommy.count52@gmail.com and asked to be zelled to john.burden1@icloud.com.
I was gullible enough to think they were honest people and he gave me a set price for the coral with shipping. I sent the money and the following day he asked for 80$ dollars more saying shipping was more expensive and that insurance. I’m located in Redlands and he claimed to be from Chula Vista and I didn’t not want to make that drive. Being local in the same state I’ve never paid more than 20-25$ to ship a coral before.
He continued to make excuses that I needed to pay and was very pushy the entire time we communicated. I was bothered by his approach and demands and I decided I didn’t want the coral anymore to send my money back. He claimed he was at the hospital that his family member shot himself accidentally in the leg and he had to leave. I told him I just wanted my money and he continued to push to just pay the money and I just needed to pay 30$ more, than eventually 50$ and he even had to nerve to ask that I can pay for food and gas. I continued to ask for my money back and he never would. This morning he said he would said me the coral and then again said he didn’t feel “safe” sending the coral until I paid 50$ more for insurance and was adamant about paying. I continued to request my refund and asked for his information and he continued to evade the question. He then admitted that he didn’t have the money as he spent it at the hospital and he would pay me back once he found “another buyer”. Long story short he denied spending it and I continued to accuse him of being a scammer, liar and thief for stealing my money and he never refunded me.
I connected with Alaji35 to let him know about his friend to see if he could help and he continued to respond in the same manner as his friend that he wanted to help me but I just needed to pay 50$ more.

Again, I’m embarrassed to say that I got conned, as I was excited to finally find a coral I had been looking for, for a long time and saved up to purchase it after loosing all my coral due to a power outage and I let my excited cloud my judgement.

Please guys if you have any information on these guys or possibly the same guy, please let me know. I’m posting this for everyone awareness in hopes nobody gets scammed like me.

I have plenty of back and forth with both people but posted some of the conversations for visibility. Again any information anymore might have would be amazing!

How come sooo many scammers around lately.
Unfortunately their are DISHONEST, HEARTLESS, and CONNIVING people out there taking our trust in each other(reefing family "community") for personal financial gain. We lower our guard down when we deal with like minded people and give benefit of the doubt because, hey they are reefers just like me and we are good people. And that is what SCAMMERS take advantage of.

Sorry to hear your about your situation bro, believe me your not the only one.

That’s really lame. Another check you can do is post asking if the individual is legit/ past experiences and feedback from others before sending $.

Another thing you can do when buying, ask for a picture. They’ll send one but Google the specimen you asked for. Scammers are lazy pieces of shit so the image they send you will be one of the first to pop up on your Google search from some other vendor.

Thanks everyone, I appreciate the support. It’s a lot of money and is discouraging to know this is happening. Just glad that we can still all come together and bring awareness for everyone, so that we are better equipped to identify the signs.
