Man, that's a sweet looking fixture! Awesome DIY skills. I've been contemplating ditching my 6 bulb tek fixture and getting a reefbreeders photon 24 with 2 24" t5s retrofitted on it, 1 bulb each on the front and back. With your experience with the reefbreeders fixture, is this worth doing? Or I could try my hand at retrofitting the tek with 2 bars of LEDs after removing 2 t5s. Dang, your fixture just threw a monkey wrench into my plans.

Getting there. Everything is glued down. Gunna start cutting wires. Hopefully have it wrapped up in a couple hours

I put 14 LEDs on each strip on the 24" fixture. So u should be able to get around 20 LEDs per strip. 40 LEDs should put out some decent light. I'm running these LEDs at 700mah, so they run cooler. If u bump it up and run them at 1000, u might need some additional cooling. The way it's setup now though, the stock ATI fans works great, and LEDs are kept reasonably cool
