Hello to all Socal Reefers! This threads purpose is to inform you all about the up coming SCRK meeting and the open officer positions. Hopefully we will be able to get all this positions filled and voted upon to have a full council ASAP!
If you are at all interested in any of the openings below please shoot me a PM including:
- Your real name
- The position you plan to run for
- Info about your tank
- Info about yourself that is relevant to the opening
1 week before the meeting I will be posting up all those interested in running for the various positions and a small blurb about them! This will make it easier for those that are planning on attending the meeting to have more information and know more about our fellow reefers who are running.
FYI RUNNING and VOTING on opening officer positions is restricted to PAYING members of SCRK
(If you are not a paying member, you can become one at the upcoming meeting)
So now the positions on the SCRK Board:
Vice President- helping President in all activities, planning meetings, and clubs public interaction
- Takes the role of the chair when the chair is absent from meetings; often becomes chair when sitting chairs term is up.
- This can be seen as an apprentice position.
Secretary
- Responsible for taking meeting minutes
- Is the sole person for contacting the entire member group and liaison between members and executive council.
- Will update all members about upcoming events, meetings, and functions.
- Must be good with emailing
- Will maintain files of all members
Treasurer- Responsible for reporting the fiscal picture of the organization.
- Ideally, this person will have a background in accounting or finance and receive reports from the executive director to make sure the organizations budget is on track.
- This person will also have their name associated with the SCRK bank account and must be willing to access that on a frequent basis.
- This officer must have the status of the budget on hand at all times and be ready to present that information at any time.
Raffle officer
- In charge of all things raffle related including making contacts to obtain raffle prizes and running monthly raffles.
Website master- Website designing, managing, and updating
- This person should be ready to update the website at all times and when needed
- This person will work closely with the Secretary in setting up a database for members
Membership Officer- This person will be in charge of membership cards, new members, and membership relations
- They will work the front table at all meetings and take role of present SCRK members
- This officer will be in charge of having cards made and pictures taken when new members join
Media Historian- In charge of documenting all events through photography/videography
- Must work closely with the Webmaster and Membership Officer
- Must keep good records of events and provide a write up with pictures to the Webmaster after each special event.
- Photography experience is required.
