I am setting my 135g tank back up after over 4 years of being down. So this time I sat down and made a wish list then started crossing them off 1 by 1.
First I had 3 GFCI installed each on its own 20amp breaker. Then I had a Drain installed just like you see in a laundry room, sticking out of the wall. Then I had my 200g Salt Water Storage tank plumbed 1" PVC so now I have 200g Salt Water on tap. Then I added a fresh water line for my RO/DI ATO.
I am going to plumb my Return pump to have a line out to the drain for water changes.
Let me know what I forgot?

Is resealing the tank really needed? it appears to be in good condition no cracks the silicon is not dry. I preformed a leak test and all was well from what i have read it seams to be a coin toss if it needs to be resealed or not....

How much is peace of mind worth? I wouldn't take a chance.

If it was on the lawn in this heat how would you know if it leaked from the bottom?

Unless your tank was sitting out in the sun for four years, your silicone is fine. FWIW, there is no such thing as "resealing" a glass tank, if the silicone is bad the tank needs to be rebuilt.

It's exactly that, a coin toss. You really can't tell how bad it is until something bad happens. It could be perfect for about 10 years but who knows. A good example is a ember on here that goes by "reefomeez". He bought a used tank, did a water test for over a week and then set up the tank. Months later a seam busted and his hardwood floor was damaged.

Eddie at cadlights uses the term "re-seal" when he redoes tanks. I've seen him re-build/re-seal tanks that were old but the glass was perfectly fine. Charges by the panel.

Easy to say "it's fine" when it's not your tank or your worries. I just spent 3k on bamboo floors for my living room and dining room, NFW I'm taking a chance for a few hundred in silicon repair. To each their own.

Sitting on a sheet of 3/4 in ply wood, not a drop on the wood. i guess i would almost rather buy a new tank than have to worry to be honest getting it resealed doesn't give me any more piece of mind...

the other think i forgot to add is the tank was purchased new in 02-03 its a 135g Oceanic RR, and was up and running until 2010, at that point it has been sitting in my garage has only been exposed to sun for the past few days while i have been testing it and painting the back panel black. I have read so many people say they resealed there tank just to have it leak. but my tank is over 10 years old so i am torn... Thank you all for the input every little bit helps.

I have to run a Ethernet cable, but this is going to also be my office so its a short cable, and it will be the only cable you see thinking about getting a Network Extender to put next to my Apex in my stand which would clear up the 1 cable running to my aquarium issue... Also wanted to say I decided to put up my tank as is I just finished cleaning it and painting the back panel black. I checked the entire tank pretty closely and compared it to silicone on other tanks that are currently up and running and seeing a few tanks that had obvious silicon issues and I am now as confident as I will be when putting 125g of salt water in my office. I am hoping to have the tank in today as i got my stand in last night.
