Well it's been a couple months since I got mine from socal TF. I placed it 12" under a 250 20k & lost the green base, thought it was bleaching but some describe this as new growth. Then lowered it 15" under 250 20k. Growth is very slow, encrusting slowly but has seemed to almost be a dark red with no green base. Im gonna place it higher in the tank . I'd like to see how everyone elses RP is doing. High light? Med?

the growth rate for me is extremely slow......... i got one back in dec/jan and now it only encrusted more on the rock like about 1 cm all around but doesn't seem to grew any taller.

mine lost some green as well. on the other hand, it's encrusting really good though...

I had mine for almost two months already, kept the green and about half inch of growth...

hmm... I got my RP about a month ago from Tom and I have fragged it twice in the one month I've had it. Taking 2 1" frags and it healed over fast. Took less than a week to regrow colony over cuts and frags were encrusted within a week. Not a real slow grower for me, it's about 16" from the lights, bottom half of the tank. Mine has kept the green base but I have heard the green washes out to solid red with higher light. Try lower light to keep the green, but keep high flow. Mine gets blasted with flow and med light. Here's mine after the first frag:

(2) Lumen Max3 250W w/ ReefLux 20K. RP at the top of the tank. It seems to love lots of light.

heres mine. dont remember exact date of purchase, but sometime beginning of may 2009.

under dual 250w XM 20k with actinics about 20" from the light (middle-ish)

mine came out of a pico about a month ago and has almost doubled in size, despite moving it around a bit. Fast grower, IME. Mine is about 12" from VHO T5s

Lomenade is a Nasuta Acro. and the red planet is a tabling millie acrpo. Both have different growth patterns.
