I'd like to see some SPS corals under AI sols. Please let me know what size tank you have, including dimensions (especially tank depth) and how many AI Sol units you have. Thanks.

Are you thinking about buying some AI SOLS. If so go on their website and there is a chart of recommendations on how many you will need.

I don't want to see their pics. I want to see actual hobbyist experience with Sols. I've already seen all the pics on their site. Thanks.

ive had my 6'x2'x2' sps reef under 6AI Sol blues for 1year. the growth was slightly slower than with 3x 250w radium20k, the colors were just a little less popping than with T5 array.

But the efficiency is unbeatable, I havent changed bulbs, and the rock is completely covered in SPS. I dont frag and trade, I dont believe in "LE" coral, I dont believe in "full spectrum", ive lost 2 colonies in the past year (out of 60), and I see my reef in person every 2-3 days. this works for me right now. I dont want to come off as an AI nutthugger, because I also have radions and love them. I'll try any lamp I can get my hands on. Just saying IME LEDs are satisfactory.

All the below coral under AI sol blues, pics from iPhone unprocessed.

ORA red planet and ORA purple stylo

A. formosa (wild)

stylophora pistillata (wild)

tabling A. solitaryensis 30" below the LEDs

A. microclados (wild straberry shortcake)

row of wild acro stags competing against ORA montis purple cap, green cap, spongiodes

coral 6-8" below lights

Ya I think u can keep good color under LEDs, however some people "claim" SPS and LEDs don't mix. In my experience so far with SPS and LEDs, the color looks great.

From my expireance sps can look pretty nice under LEDs. I have see this first hand tho, take a sps coral out of a system with LEDs over it and put it under MH and it looks like crap for a few weeks. Where if u were doing the same thing between T5 and MH the coral doesn't look as crapy.

No doubt SPS do best under MH, but I'm anxious to see how they do under my new "full spectrum" setup. I was seeing lots of super bright green, and red. But for some reason blues and purples were just ehh whatever. I'm hoping with the addition of green and more 420nm LEDs they wil help bring out the blues. (im talking about SPS)

OK. Great input so far. One more question though. I see a lot of AI Blues out there. What about the whites? Will they promote faster growth? Will they be equivalent to the Phoenix 14000K bulbs? In terms of color, I mean. I'm curious if the AI Sols in the video posted by PGR11 are whites.
