Figured I'd start with the beginning of the scape. 1st attempt but may be the last as I really like it. I do want to go mostly sps with this tank, so I may build up higher. I'll decide when the lights mounted. Sorry for the horrible glare

I was going to go with minimal rock but I kept getting too lucky with the chisel getting sweet looking pieces i couldn't leave out.

A tunnel goes straight through to the other side. All the caves underneath connect. I'm hopping to get decent flow throughout.

Great rock scape! I really like the arches and holes for the fish to swim through. What is the tank dimensions?

Looking good Matt. Did you finally get your other tank back in order?

Scape looks good. That extra room at the top will help the flow out a lot!
Hopefully. Still going back and forth on it though. I've gotta track down someone with a par meter and see where I'm at for the sticks.

Thanks. Tank is 48"x31"x28" tall. I really like the depth you get with the extra inches front to back.

I don't know, whaaaaaaa?

beautiful rockwork , keep up updated
Thanks and will do.

Are you gonna cure the rock before setting up tank?
No. One of the reasons I love this dry mined rock. Nothing to die off, no phosphates are trap. Add some Dr.Tim's one and only and call it good. I started my last 2 tanks the same way. From my 20 to my current 66g all livestock made it including sps. Never saw a cycle either.
This time around I'll be using some old rinsed/cleaned sand. So I'm gonna watch for phosphates and any sign of a cycle before the transfer just to be safe.

Thanks brotha. Everything is going pretty good with my 66g. Lost all my chalices and favia, Duncans. Sps and zoas are happy as can be, not sure what happened. Gotta be a lighting issue. I did come home to a neon goby cover in what I hope is ich, but afraid it may be worse, looks to be shedding skin. Same fish and symptom that took out all my fish late last year.

you going to add any flat shelf pieces or a couple little tonga pieces I think that would really set it off. Looks good so far.
I like that idea, I have a few flat pieces but hard to tell in the pictures. But some branched tonga might help break up that uniformed look. Thanks for the suggestion!

Good job Site..lol...that rockscape is perfect for great water flow.
Ha! Thanks bud. I'm liking it so far.

I'll hopefully get the hood up today see what it looks like lit. I think the height should be pretty good with the lighting.

Base of the canopy is together with the light inside. Still need to mount my fans and dust covers . I'm going with 4 200mm 12v fans. I'll trim the canopy the same as the stand. I couldn't match the stain on the stand so I painted everything black.

Broke up the rest of my rock and ended up with some decent pieces. So I built up my scape higher.

Need to finish up a little plumbing and I'm good to go.

I'm going with the herbie drain. 1.25" main with the 1" as syphon/emergency. How far under the water line should they be in my sump?
