Bad *** man . Needs sand tho :)
Thanks! Yeah I'm dreading cleaning/rinsing all this sand. I'm planning on a 3" sand bed. I've got about 150 lbs I think another 50lb will be enough.
Grabbed some sand from a fellow member before I took off to Havasu last weekend. Came back and this "little" fella made his way to the top. As thick as my pinky

At first glance I want to say that's a peanut worm. But then looking at the mouth it looks like a vermite snail out of its tube.

Matt I would use the 1" as the full siphon drain with the regular standpipe being the 1.25. What return pump are you using? You will get more flow out of the 1.25 over the 1" if your main ever got clogged.

Nice scape , question what's underneath the tank and why ?
Thanks. That's just a sheet of Styrofoam. Helps with any minor imperfections on the top of the stand. Reduces pressure points.

I was going back and forth on that, and keep getting different opinions. I'm running a mag drive 24. It's going to feed my chiller and display refugium as well. Plus any other equipment may add to the manifold later on, calcium reactor ect.

Both have adjustment valves and I haven't piped the top yet. Can still go either way.

I used only plywood on my 66g and it's fine. I bought this system used, the reefer before me used it on top of the plywood so I ran it too.

Thanks Ev'e! I plan on piping in my current 66g as a display fuge with different types of macros. Once I break all my coral out I'll be left with mostly rubble so I plan on using your rock to scape the macro display.

WOW man!!! i really like the aquascape! Looks like all the rock I have for you will go in the sump haha

Had some left over pvc so I made myself a fan brace. Eye sore but you can't see it behind the light fixture. Works well.

Took a long time but finally got it all filled with RODI. I'm hoping salt mixes just as well with the rock and sand in there. ... I may wait for my gyre to show up.

This mag drive 24 pushes some serious water. Extremely loud. Hopefully the break in helps but I'll need to figure something out for vibrations.

Sand smells like all hell even after rinsing it over and over. I'm guessing I'll have a major cycle hopefully phosphates don't become a long term problem.

I got around to adding some of my new equipment.

Lighting:
Radion xr30w pro x2

Flow:
Mp40QD
Gyre 150
MagDrive 24 return

Controller
Apex controllling, well everything - lights, heater, chiller, skimmer and all flow. I thought setting this system up was going to be a lot harder than it turned out to be. Really feel i'm getting everything out of my ecotech equipment now.

My tank completed its cycle but I still added a bottle of dr.tims to be safe. Added a CUC a while back, a blue spot jawfish last week as well as a few more fish today. Some "tester" corals are in place to see where my light strength is at. So far so good.

A few pictures from today:

A few lps testers, a tube nem and a mini colony of birds nest is all for coral right now. Trying to figure out where my lighting strength is at.

Fish:
very tiny cherub dwarf angel
Blue spot jawfish
7 B/G chromis
2 what I believe are called tiger tail anthias? I'm thinking I jumped the gun on these, hiding way deep in the rockwork for now.
