If ur corals look starving then ur over skimming. Also depends on what kind of reef u have. If softies u would like to have a little dirtier water then sps. You don't want high No3 or Po4 levels tho but you do want some nutrients in the water.
will i have a 100 gal sps tank, 30 gal sump. i am running a bubble mag nac9, which is rated for 300-500 gal tank. i have it set on number 2. and i just dont want to starve my sps corals
I wouldn't worry about over skimming. It will pull out all the hydrophobic dissolved organics but you can always replenish those with heavy fish feedings. Each system is unique. You just have to find the balance that works for YOU. Good luck and keep us posted!
