Hello Reefers,
Im about to upgrade my current skimmer witch is a Aquaready HOB 1.5,
My tank volume is approximately 80 gals including the sump volume
My bio load is heavy with many fish that eat 4 times a day pellets and some frozen food once a day as well.
Currently my phosphate levels are around 0.018 ppm, nitrates around 25 ppm,
Im looking to buy the Bubble Magus Curve 5 Elite Protein Skimmer

Does any one have a recommendation for good protein skimmer?
Thanks reefers

That’s an excellent choice, because that come with a reliable Sicce pump. It’s very quiet and for the price you can’t beat it.

A quality skimmer should have a reliable pump, easy to disassemble and doesn't have a lot of moving parts. I'm a huge Deltec fan, but think Tunze and Reef Octo are great skimmers.

Thanks for your opinions guys, I was watching some videos about the Reef Octopus Essence s-130, price is higher than the Bubble Magus Curve 5 Elite Protein Skimmer but I like that I can operate it between 7-8 inches of water on my sump
Which one should I buy guys?
Thanks again

I can vouch for the Reef Octo Classic. Great skimmer and easy to dial in. Its also pretty simple to make a skimmer stand out of eggcrate if you need to.

I have a RO130 essence on 1 tank and it works well. I have a BM curve 3 on another tank and it also works well. The BM took a little longer to dial in but it cranks out very well. The Reef Octo I think is easier to dial in.
