These little tubes/spikes (1-2 cm) have taken over most surface area of the rocks. Some snails even have them. What are they? Nothing comes out the end like a feather duster.
Not exactly sure..but maybe it was the uninhabited tube worms....have you checked late at night when light is off to make sure there's nothing that comes out?
defin worms i have them in my tanka s well. when i drop frozen foods in the stick out long white tentacles ot almost a stringy netting to grab food then go back into the tubes
dude, I have that too. it is all over the tank and when you touch it the clear part of the tube shrinks. It is the stranges thing. I tried breaking them off my rocks, but there are too many and I gave up.
