I'm setting up a small growout system (30g tank + 17g sump) and I'm looking for a skimmer with a small footprint. Right now I'm eyeballing the Cadlights PSL-50 Elite because it's got a 3.75 x3.75" footprint (I'm limited to ~4"x5").

Any other suggestions besides the PSL-50?

I've heard mixed things on these. Although that goes for anything in this stupid hobby, ;)

Kinda looking at the small SCAquariums skimmer. Would need to shuffle things to make the space.

Any chance of using an external skimmer? I used a cheap coralife hang on back skimmer and it worked great. Footprint was just the size of the feed pump

I won't have room for an external. Really narrows the field for me - for better or worse.
newtothis - thanks, but the 80 is to big for what I'll be doing.

Yeah - the Tunze 9004 is a definite possibility. (the 9002 would be a little undersized)

How do your like your SCA-a80? The 60 seems to have decent reviews pretty much every were I look.

The 80 is the smallest in the sca line(although, they renamed it to 301) It work great with a little mod to the output of the pump.
