What's this pretty little frag?

Also I grabbed a frag of BC Hyperberry from Reef0708 based on seeing how nice it looks in your tank. Crossing fingers I get it to grow like yours!

It really does unlock some growth. I'm just starting to see that come around after my second set of corrections.

As far as cyano, I haven't really noticed a connection between dosing and outbreaks? Are you thinking it's one of the traces or dailies that's contributing the issue? I dosed some carbon before but ended up with TN issue, seemed like it was fueling some type of bad bacteria/pathogen. Are you dosing any kind of good bacteria to help outcompete it? I have some green cyano in my refugium but it's low flow and newly added so I've wrote it off as just that.
I was dosing MB7 for 3 months. But cyano keeps coming back after blowing them off daily. I know the cyano is fueled by my auto dosed fridge food for my anthias. So I think I will stop the MB7 and start carbon dosing. We should def do a group buy. Save on some shipping. And possibly discounts.

I'm down for that. I just ordered some but at the rate I burn through flouride I'll need some of that sooner then the rest. I think djrice69 is still on the shine too and is close by as well.

I've been using the bio digest that Andre recommends. I did get some cyano when I had sand early on as well as dinos. I want to say PNS substrate sauce and ProBio helped with those a lot. Its a bacteria sold from algaebarn. I could be wrong but wouldn't it help to keep dosing the mb7 and let it feed on the carbon source? Might help insure you don't feed something negative in the system and help the MB7 or other bacteria compete with the cyano.

Nice grab! I really love the polyps but the tips look like someone colored them hot pink. I'm hoping that is what the piece is, I need to contact Kevin and make sure that was the name but I'm 90% sure it was.

That little speciosa frag is a no namer from Tong's Tropical Fish. I know they are super finicky but hopefully I can get it to thrive. It's pretty unique looking in comparison to the rest of my acropora. The tips look great under 14kish spectrum. I could see all the colors in daylight when I was dipping them also. Pretty cool it's the actual color and not a fluorescence from blue lighting. It's a cool piece but I don't think it's going to develop the cool two tone polyps like some of the really high end type have. So far the polyps just appear green. The texture of the piece and look of the skin is what got me, very different from even my other smoothies. Maybe similar to a echinata or something like hawkins.

Age of Aquariums doesn't have a whole lot of sps but what they do have is super healthy and clean. Mostly classics but they had a few of these really cool granulosa. I need to get a good daylight shot but it's a nice lime green with purple/blueish coralite rings. Under blue it gets a really cool golden hue to it. They had a few others I was tempted on but really holding out for a nice millepora or five.

I finally got around to adding a powerfilter as described in the RMS method. It's a bit of an eyesore in the display but not as bad as I thought it would be since my bracing is doubled up with black silicon. I've placed it above my tunze powerheads, helps hide it a bit and I figure the tunze will pull the debris to the filter. I dosed my usual snow mixture tonight and fired it up. It's quiet and adds a bit more flow to the tank. It's been about 30 minutes and the tank is only looking slightly foggy, that's about 5x as fast as it would usually start to clear up so I'm hoping to see some nice crystal clear water over the next week.
Thats been one of the harder things for me with this 36" span and black background... Never quite looked clear to me even with UV. Maybe this will get me there? If not then it's just the t5 lighting I'm still not accustomed to. I feel like B+ type lamps throw a tint to the water.

I'm seeing consistent improvement in the tank. Both coloration and growth. All the new frags are spot on but I feel like even some of the ones that made it through the whole ordeal are starting to recover and show more color and PE. The major hold out is JF Fox Flame. Polyps out just coloration sucks. I'm not sure if it's a PAR issue, being pretty high up, or if it's just still struggling. Not a single yellow tip, just a dull maroonish red. As far as the rest go I'm seeing polyp extension even on the smoothies so that's great.

I cleaned my fuge and my chaeto doubled in size over the last few weeks. There was lots of green cyano down there so I sucked that out and I added my last 40lb of oolite to the fuge DSB, so I'm at 6" now. I'm starting to see some spaghetti worms migrate from the display to the sand. Looking forward to watching the DSB develop life.

Nutrients are present no3 15-20 / po4 .08-.12. I'm working OG phyto back into the mix now as well. That should really bump start my fuge life and the corals are loving it.

That grannie looks super nice, can't wait to see it sprout some branches. Power filters are no joke, they do an amazing job at clearing up your tank, I just couldn't get past the eyesore part. You can also use it in the sump, although, slightly less effective than being in the display. But once your tank is clear and everything is happy, no one is going to notice the PF in the corner, they'll be too busy looking at the animals.

I could see that. The filter cartridges showed up first and put it in perspective how large it was going to be. I'd like to figure out a 90 elbow fitting for between the filters. They are about the same length as my corner over flow, it would be nice to have them wrap around that but for now it's fine.

Yeah this granulosa should turn into a cool piece with some growth

I'm up to full kalkwasser saturation now and seeing an improvement in ph and overall health in my tank. Polyp extension is the best it's been in a while so I took some pictures under the t5s.
