I just did a transaction with a guy from huntington park from another forum. My first attempt to ship livestock. Was shocked to discover i could ship a small frag for about $8 fedex ground! From inland empire to la county, box, styrofoam and heat pack included!

Of course you have to figure out how to get box, styrofoam and heat packs. Shipped at 3pm at kinkos and it arrived 10:30a the next morning. It could arrive up until evening delivery at this rate. But i was amazed, the coral and box made it fine!

$8! Shocked.

Ya, FedEx ground local is fine, but doing ground in another state and even northern Cali will take over a day most of the time. And it's not guaranteed to arrive at 10:30. I ship out almost daily, charge $25 for Cali, AZ, NV, OR, ect and $40 everywhere else. Half the time I lose money on shipping.

No problem manny, glad the experiment worked!

I live in the sticks in inland empire. I can't handle crossing the 91. So to me this local shipping thing pays off. I miss out on most of the beautiful corals that are posted on here so something to think about for local trades, buying and selling.

Well next time you do some trimming on those sps let me know! 8$ shipping is definitely cheaper than driving out there. And your sticks are super nice 🏽

Yeah not to mention "busy season" when it's cold and fedex temporarily has no dang clue where your stuff is at because drivers can't get through due to ice /snow and just weather in general not permitting . Then everyone wants live arrival guarantee. I'd like to ship fish some day but very hesitant because when business was good I was shipping out 8 to 15 orders of non perishable goods on a daily basis before with both ups then fedex and there's plenty that's just out of our control.
