Just getting the plumbing ready for my sc tank I just bought and iball ready hate the bulkheads. The drain bulkhead drips a little bit and I tightened that thing down as tight as I could and the return bulk head is a joke, the return pvc pipe that goes in the bulk head on top was barely too short after I all ready pvc cemented it so there is a huge gap on the bulkhead and I can see why its leaking. Just wanted to let a few people know about. What u get for paying less for a Chinese product now lets hope after all this the tank holds water and doesn't leak. Any ways besides all that does any one know what I can do as far as the bulkheads

Remove the bulkhead if you can and check underneeth the rubber gasket, that happened to my recently with another bulkhead and I found a piece of plastic underneeth the rubber from the molding process.

Hey im pretty bored here at work and I see you're in Ontario. If you're working on your tank now and free I can come by and maybe help you out. Shoot me a pm. If not its cool. What size is the hole and what size is the bulkhead you are using. There shouldn't be any space.

90g SPS tank/75g display refugium. 180g FOWLR

That and if you tighten a bulkhead too much it can cause the gasket to warp witch can cause a leak. Also make sure it's the right size for the whole and centered before you tighten.

On the other side if its a super slow leak you can always just wait for it to salt creep over.. Lol
I don't recommend that but I have to admit I've done it before from being fed up.. :)

What do you mean by space? Also don't tighten the bulkhead too tight or it will crack. Over tightening can also cause it to not seal. Some pics will help

I bought one of the 50G cubes and If I remember correctly, the holes are cut in some weird metric dimensions. I went to coral gazers and chad had me try the 3/4" on the return and the bulk head almost fit, but didn't. Then the 1/2" bulkhead was loose and I had to make sure I had it perfectly centered. The drain was a standard 1" bulkhead. Pain in the A$$, you get what you pay for!

A quick time saving thing I've done is just run a little silicone on the gasket before tightening and even if the seal has a small tear or debris the silicone helps seal a little better. A little preventative measure never hurts.

Buying an SC aquarium was the WORST decision. On a 112 gallon tank the return line is 1/2 inch. I go to swap out the cheap bulkheads and have leaks on the drain and return because the imperial sizing is off by a tiny amount. I may have to have someone come out and drill the holes. What a nightmare!!!!!
