There aren't many breeders, commercial or garage outfits, out there that breed a big variety of fish. ORA is the only I know of that has successfully captive bred maybe a dozen or so different fish. Most of the others are hobbist breeders that specialize in very specific fish, the majority of them clowns, unfortunately. I am sure if you ask your LFS, they might be willing to order from ORA. You might want to check with Richard since he can get fish from ORA.

"Seahorse Aquatics" in La Mesa CA is one such breeder.

He was at RAP and will be at MAX as well.
I believe his specialty is clown fish (despite the name of the business)

I'll have to contact him first for permission before posting his e-mail and phone number. Information pending

I'd be interested to know what varieties are available. That'd be a good place to start. Perhaps we could put up a sticky with that info and update it as we go along?

Responsible reefkeeping really SHOULD be emphasized IMO... Not just care (duh) but also acquisition and appropriateness for captive care...

Is anyone culturing clams? I think so, yes? How about other inverts, such as shrimp or crabs? I know there is a captive snail breeding program (forgot the details), but anything else?

Is there a particular person or group of people who would know this?

Is their breeding setup running for fish again? I thought they had been hit pretty hard by the hurricanes.

I have some ocellaris that are small that need a month or two for growout.

DavidM (Seahorse aquatics) can get fish from C-Quest if you are interested in that too. After all he is the West Coast sales rep.

From what I was told he is no longer the sales rep, is this true?
