Splitting Carpet Anem

How do you know if your carpet anemone is splitting. I have a red carpet anemone that I think is splitting but I've never seen a carpet anemone split itself. I moved it from my display tank to a smaller tank so it can do its own thing if infact he is splitting. I will add a pic later.

i havent seen it either but my big nem looks like a head is popping out the side of the neck. kind of like how duncans do it. looks weird. not sure if thats normal or if it's splitting. but its taking a mighty long time. been 2 weeks since ive noticed it and its still like that. i can post a picture later if i remember. i did take a picture.

I've been doing a little reading. If its a haddoni or gig I think ur sol. There have been no proven cases of these two carpets ever splitting, they are sexual reproduces. There have been cases where people(idiots) have cut them to propagate them but they have never lived longer then a few months after being cut.

Its a haddoni. I saw some videos of people cutting them up. It didn't state how long they lived afterwards.

Yea I saw them too. But none of them could prove that the nem lived longer then a month or two with photographic evidence. Even one guy stated he had accidentally ripped his into 3 pieces and so far only one is alive but looks really bad.

Wasn't paying attention . The post is for carpet nems. Mine is a rose bubble. Here's a picture. Looks weird. I've always imagined them splitting down the middle like a shroom/ricordia

Dude that Is weird. Mine all split in half down the mid. Maybe it's another type of mitosis, idk. Should bottle it and put it in the Carnival lol

It looks normal today but it was looking wierd the past couple of days. If I was to sell it how much do ya think I should sell it for? Was thinking of trying to get a hot pink one instead. Well thats if 8 can find one.

Reds are expensive. But I would make sure it is health b4 thinking of selling it. Moving is really stressful on carpets. Both my carpets went through a month of shock after I acclimated them.
I'm might b interested in it. Would u be willing to trade?

Anybody ever tried to frag a carpet? Personally I don't think I am willing to risk it.
@ emac if I did decide to get rid of it, it would be to get another one (hot pink) so unless you got a hot pink one I wouldn't consider a trade. I would need the money for the new one. I paid $500 for this one and he was a little bit smaller then now.

500! That sh!t cray. I bought my first carpet last minth for 80$. It looked fine for a week then melted =/ I almost cried.

Nah brother I wasn't trying to say that. It's just most people don't have a hot pink anem lol. So chances are the anem won't split on its own huh

After some thought I'm gonna sell it. I'll be posting it in the live stock section. Gonna try to find either a hot pink anem or maybe just blue.
