My unhappy clam

check the difference in colors. The first is my RR pink floyd

And now here is a frag of RR pink floyd from a good friend that I just placed in my tank. His frags are always pastel colored, at least compared to mine. It will be interesting to see how this frag colors up in my tank.

I have the RR pink floyd and it looks just like your frag. Just got it at RAP though. Wow your old colony was really sick... any idea why you lost it?

No, I did not lose my colony of RR pink floyd. My friend gave me a frag of his, so I now I have two RR pink floods in my tank. My colony continues to encrust but not really any vertical growth.

Oh I gotcha... well I hope mine turns out like your colony. We may have the same friend whom shall remain anonymous. :)

if you look at all the colony of pink floyd they all have a very nice base before they grow upward. try to put it on a smaller base rck after it encrest the base it will start going up.

Right now its still on my frag rack. Mid way up the tank. Not sure where to put it.

What would you suggest Mark? Lots of light and flow?
Ok. I have mine on the frag rack as well, it's been about a month already. I'm scared to bleach it, or have it turn brown. My aoa wolverine turned brown, and still hasn't colored back up after 4 to 5 months.

After I remove new frags from their plugs, Bayer dip and then they use to go into my frag/qt but I have an unhappy frag tank now. So after Bayer dip, into the display. I don't light acclimate. I place them where it's esthetically pleasing. Bleaching has not been the issue but sometimes I perhaps don't get the most optimal color because of my rush to placement. I certainly have had problems with new frags when the tank is unhappy but I do not think that is placement but rather overall health of my system. My tank has been struggling for a while although parameters are stable, no new equipment or regimen, no pests, just a puzzling less than happy tank.
