Kept as in many different tanks
Nothing happened except growth;)
There are different ways of cooling tanks than just chillers
I have used fans, house a/c etc even with halides
Just different ways of success

I'm also a big fan of sps corals and agree stability is key to success and growth. Whatever you are ready to start over or need tester stick lmk I got some for you.

I bet you have high nitrates or phosphates if you were to check. Just read you have crushed coral for a sand bed... detritus sink that is. Between that, what looks to be inadequate flow, and manually dosing I think thats why you have browning issues with your sps.

And no you dont need a chiller hehe

I dose manually everyday, but what makes it easier for me to do so is that my tank is next to my bed in my room. So daily manual dosing isnt an issue for now. Stability is key as what smartchoice stated
SPS= stability.Patience.Success

For my sps dominate nano, im lucky that i dont need a chiller to cool down my tank. A fan blowing across the water surface keeps my tank stable at 80( i set my heater to 80) even on 90+ degree days and an ATO is vital.
Keep an eye on SG. As for me, i have to add a little salt in my ato to keep my salt level from fluctuating when my evaporation is high.
You shouldnt just dose any supplements without properly testing. I tested for alk, cal and mag for 2 weeks straight to i figured out how much my tank sucks up those supplements daily. Also i would reccommend testing with an accurate test kits for example; Salifert, red sea etc
API sucks, though i do use them for po4 and no3
I do dose vitamin C daily and potassium every week without testing. Although i dose farrr below what the bottle recommends so i dont over dose those supplements.
I also feed my corals every other day. My nitrates and phosphates are near zero due to rowaphos( phosphate remover) and having a oversized skimmer ( cpr bakpak) to eliminate nitrates quickly.
Stability is vital.
Dont give up!

There is the problem, assumptions and sps don't mix! Lol
Everything has to be precise. I would stop blindly dosing alk if it isn't measured and also stop dosing the nopox.
Exactly... I fudged up and forgot to turn my dosing pumps back on past weekend, I left out of town for work and when I got back on Friday night, majority of my sps weren't doing well! I'd invest in a doser, or what I'm about to do... An apex. GL!!!
