SPS Receeding Tip

Hey what's up dudes I have a Green Stag that receded a little bit because I had a giant clam die in the tank. Should I cover the tip with some super glue to prevent more receeding ?

Anything helps thanks !

Just cut .5 inch from the damage part.

You can snap it or better yet take a trip to the drugstore and get cuticle shears, they're the same as bone/coral cutters only much cheaper.

You sure its from the clam dying? Usually burnt tips have to due with alkalinity. But yeah what those guys said cut it a little past the dead portion.

Well it started underneath, not actually from the tip down. Then it reached the tip

That's an alk issue. I just had a blue stag do the same exact thing.

Plus I've been throwing some mag in there trying to purple up my rocks some more so that could increased it as well

But since then I did a 10 gs water change on the 40 so I would think it would be ok I'll check it again right now to see what it is.

check your salinity if you added mag.

Will do. Alk is at 8 now. But I feel like I did have a swing earlier that week.

It's the spike that is going to cause the most damage. Your alk might b good now but that spike might haunt u for a few weeks.

I gotcha. So just keep it stable and hopefully it'll recover I can see that I had a spike too because one of monticaps got pissed and now it's starting to look better as well. My Duncan's looked the best they have since I've got them today.
