starfire or saphire glass

starfire or saphire glass tanks, is there a difference is one more clear than the other... or is it that some spell incorrectly

sapphire is a gem isn't it? I've Only heard of starphire glass...

I think the way starpHIRE is spelled it's almost like sappHIRE so people get them confused

+1...Puff is correct, starphire...once you go starphire, you don't go back to regular glass.
sapphire is a gem isn't it? I've Only heard of starphire glass...

i live sapphire glass tanks... sure i can't see my fish and corals because it's solid blue... but i don't need 20K bulbs...

The thicker the glass the more it has a green tint (standard grade). The starphire glass is clear and does not have the green tint. It is the closet you are going to get to acrylic. If the tank is going to use thin glass maybe it is not worth it. There is also different grades of starphire. CAD lights is coming out with 2 new small tanks and they are supposed to be starphire OEM. It really is up to you.

dude, i know you seen the new cadlight tanks... i think it's three tanks they have... it's curved glass and starphire... the clear starphire not the green one like before... even the bottom part of the tank is starphire...


i saw them at ali's and tom's (carson) today...

ali had a little 4g tank...

i can't do a nano... i will get anxiety if i had one again... feels like you don't get elbow room...

Starfire/starphire glass has less iron content and clearer than standard glass. Depending on the upgrade cost versus overall cost of the tank, it's worth it.
