What type of starfish? Linkia stars, for instance, don't live long in captivity. Sand Sifting Stars can quickly deplete the sand bed of life and starve and disintegrate.

High phosphates and nitrates are likely to cause problems with your SPS if your cal, alk, and mag is stable.

i dont think that bleached sps will do any good. well i made me 400 dollar intro conclusion to sps! haha

Read my earlier post nitrate are not detectable I just figured there has to be alittle, that can't be it.

Maybe its the lighting bleaching the sps.. as for the star fish, mine always die, exept for my serpant starfish
