Starfish Vs. Bowerbanki

I came out to the tank last night to find my starfish hanging half way out of the bowerbanki, I pulled him out and set him on the rock. This morning hes been moving around as usual but seems to be shedding his skin and rotting away. Any idea if it will recoup?

Cut off the leg and it'll regenerate itself

That seems to be the way they start to die off unfortunately but hopefully it recovers. Cutting a part of it may stress it but not sure on that

Well if it gets worse I think I will put him back where I found him and at least make my bower happy.

Yea once that white peeling happens it's downhill from there
