Aaron's had this gold assessor since last year that has always swum upside down. I've been in the store at least every weekend for water and have never seen that fish in any orientation but upside down. I finally decided to buy him yesterday and brought him home; he hid in a cave for about an hour and came out, friendly as can be and totally unphased by people outside the tank... and right-side up. My defective fish is defective! (I had a feeling this would happen.)

You're trippin. Either way an amazing specimen.
Yeah, it's really cool. :) A little ragged today (probably the royal gramma, more likely the starry blenny) but doesn't seem phased and they are already getting used to the newcomer. It's an "out and about" fish, must be used to people after living at the store for so long. Hopefully it settles in and feels quirky again.

Yeah, Whenever we put them in the tanks with the blue bottoms they tend to swim upside down. As soon as I put them in the large shallow tank in the middle of the store they swim upright. I guess you could go bare bottom >.<

He was $42. Sorry, no pics but he's an ORA Gold Assessor and looks pretty much like they all do, though he's looking a bit ragged after the welcome wagon in my tank.
