Ok, all my zoas and palys have at least tripled since I got them, some even more, except my Sunny D's which of course are my favorites(that I own). I think I have tried everything to get them to spread, but I still only have the one polyp I got from Ramzy at RAP. It opens great, gets good light and good flow. I have tried spot feeding mysis, cyclops and phyto on top of whatever it gets from when i feed the fish. I'm out of ideas.

Any help is appreciated. Thanks, Dave

Really? Ramzy said his grow real fast, he was thinking i'd probably have 6+ heads by now. My AOGs and Cars from RAP have each at least tripled in heads...

supposedly cutting them off the frag plug & gluing it to the rockwork helps...
Thanks for the suggestion, but it's only 1 polyp right now and my glueing skills are scary so i would really hate to lose it. Either by over or under glueing it. I had thought about that, though. It's actually on a 2" tile so it has plenty of room to spread...

How long have you had them? Ive had things like Jokers take like 6months to split from 2 heads and came out with 4 new ones now i have 6 sitting for a long time too. Hopefully it a double soon.

hopefully, i just want my tank to fill in...

I've noticed that you favorite coral is the one that don't do well
I totally agree, though I don't think it is not doing well, the contrary actually, it doesn't even completely close at night. It just won't grow...

Well its only 1 polyp so it will take a little longer. If it was for example a 5 polyp frag you'd have 8 right now. As long as its happy no need to worry.

My PPE have not grown another head in 5 months. Now this is a slow grower lol.

yeah, this polyp is happier than poop. It is always open, but i agree, it probably is because it is just one. This is the only zoa i have had started as 1 polyp, all the others were 2+

agree with this statement... just wait till it sprouts another head or two, and watch them take off. sunny d's are fast growers.

try placing them very close to another type of zoa, 1/2" or less maybe even touching, usually if I have a slow grower I do this, and they sprout new heads within the next few weeks. I also use this trick when I frag, it seems the zoas go into overdrive and try to compete with the others.

here's a pic when i first got it. Look exactly the same today, just in the tank.(placement in tank makes for a very tough angle through the glass)

This really works! I am going to try this with all my zoos to see if they grow some!
