So I got my taxes back, and the wife gave me the okay to spend a chunk on coral to finish my display tank.

What I would like to do is buy some decent LPS/Softies that I can eventually frag up and sell from time to time, From what I have seen AquaSD has a great selection so I may head there unless anyone has any input.

Also what tends to be the faster growers among corals?

I've been to AquaSD a few times and they have never been short on high-end coral when I've stopped by, so you can't go wrong there. You might also wants to check out Aquatica on your way down to SD, I haven't been there since they finished the shop but I've read good things. I'm sure more info will come from other members.

In this hobby you're never finished lol. If you do then you're in the wrong hobby. J/k post some pictures of your shopping spree when your done.

The two absolutely best shops are Vivid Aquarium (colors, variety, and huge inventory) and yes you pay for what you get.

The other store is SPS Coral store. The most amount of limited editions I have ever seen. Small store but huge LE selections.

My timing has never been great with Reef Raft so I can't comment there.

Must admit, I have never been to AquaSD and there certainly seems to be a lot of positive comments on this page

Good luck and have fun

I go to Aquasd alot. Shipwreck cove in Encinitas is also great, smaller selection of lps and zoas, but great sps. Just went to Fish Collection yesterday, and they have some really nice welsos, LPS, and zoas/palys. If you are after showpiece LPS, I'd have to say ASD is the largest selection. Have always wanted to go to vivid, but never made it up there yet...

Stay away from vivid,. so far over priced, i have never been anywhere else where i got treated so badly, I got quoted 200 bucks for a clam the size of a golf ball. Only went there once n will never return.

HELL yeah vivid sucks big ones. I live right next door to their *** and i cand stand them. I ripped them a new one on Yelp. They tried to charge me $90 for half a inch of a blue and yellow chalice. A week later i got the same chalice 3 inches bigger at reef raft for $130

I've been to AquaSD a number of times, since I'm only about 30 minutes from them, and I've never been disappointed. There are a few other places too. Aquatic Warehouse is down the street from AquaSD, Aquatica in San Marcos, and Shipwreck Cove in Encinitas. These are my favorite spots.
