So today I decided to upgrade the sump & fuge on the frag system. I recently upgraded frag tanks, so naturally I had to upgrade everything else, right? (Comeon guys, help me out, it's working on the old lady so you gotta back me up....)

Old sump was a 40 gallon breeder & fuge was a 15 gallon.....................

New sump is 110 gallons & fuge is 60 gallon acrylic.............

Plumbed in & ready for test run..................

Added 20 gallons of fresh NSW & made adjustments to drain (still gonna add a 45 on there to stop splashing water............

What is it about Steve's and infatuations with BIG sumps lol?? haha. I am pretty sure the other steve got that idea from me when he saw my 120gal Sump (on a BB tank, a sump is really not a sump if system is done right)

Nice work though, looks nice.I dont know how you guys can afford all this crap, my electicity bill is through the roof, nearly triple what it is without the big tank. I am going to start to crack down and get it back to under $200.

I guess if you can sell enough frags to cover part of your expenses, its worth it ;)

If i remember correctly, i have my tank up and running prior to coming up to your place. So the part of me copying your big sump style ain't gonna cut it. :D. My electrical bill used to be $30/m now is $200 so ..... I guess for the love of this hobby, gotta SUCK it up :D

Since I kept the same frag tank, I kept the same sump & fuge pumps also.............Mag 7 into (2) 3/4 returns, fuge pump is a QO 1200, skimmer is a 6-2 (Sedra 3500) & the only powerhead in the entire system is a Korlia 4 (12 watts)....................Granted I am running a 400 HQI though..... ;) Power consumption isn't very high on this tank............

I'm looking for a 2 lamp T-5 setup for over the fuge............(2) 54 watt 6500's is what I'm thinking.............

Which blue one Steve?? The one in the background of the 4th photo on the last post??

yah you had your tank running first, and your SUMP was barely a 40gal sump. Then you came to my house and saw a 120gal sump with a 180gal tank, and got the idea ;)

I wish I can afford that kind of cash, but with a baby, a new business, and only one income to go on right now, things are definitely tight. So I need to downsize before I can upsize.
