SUPER Bummed.........My favorite monti. cap.....within 3 days, went from looking good, to a white skeleton (sorry picture came out blue....)
rest of the corals are doing fine.
The only changes in the tank:
  1. Picked up some corals from fellow reefer 3 weeks ago
  2. Started dosing 9ml NoPox (120G tank) daily last weekend. Almost two weeks of dosing......
Looked at monti with lights out to see if I could catch any Nudis.....don't see anything.

If you figure out what caused it, LMK. My Red cap is getting out of control. I have used a significant amount of NoPox in the past. No need, SPS consumption now vastly exceeds feeding.

I stopped dosing and did a 60% WC so that should take of any NoPox overdosing issue's (one hopes), but if its Nudis....dont know how to control that now....I guess take out the monti and dip in CoralRX and see. Dont want to introduce any new monti's till this is figured out....dont know any other course of action.....

What are your params (specifically Alk & Nitrate)? Do you have other SPS and are they ok?

If you're in SoCal, hit me up for some nice pieces -- I've been trying to kill monti cap! In fact, I've scraped the crap out of them from rocks but it came back with a vengeance! lol

Params are in line. Nitrate was at 20 / Pox was a little high BUT, always has been (hence NoPox dosing).
I'm leaning on Nudi's as the culprits.....

Don’t the nudis only eat Mounties? Do you just let them eat all your Mounties, wait a month for them to all starve and then start over?

The whole thing just bleached, don’t think that will be nudi’s. Month caps are pretty tough, but if your other SPS is doing fine…then it’s weird. Anything that can sting it?
