Hey guys, I have a few questions regarding this skimmer I just setup. First couple of days it was running I could not regulate the skimmer, it would just overflow, so upon reading on the internet I found out it was in too much water. I had to adjust the height, got that resolved. A few hours ago I started my biopellet rx. I put the output of the rx next to the input of the skimmer pump, now it looks like the bubbles are bursting a lot lower on the neck of the skimmer. Should I let it be? Retune the skimmer? Will height of bubbles go back after a few hrs/days? Thanks and Happy New Year.

i have a cad lights reactor right next to my swc and it works great. Some times the bubbles get low and come out into my sump but i just let it be and it goes back to normal. Tune the air valve until it is making a nice foam and then turn the red dial so the head foam is about to overflow and leave it. Not many people talk about these skimmers but i am really happy with mine and my 180 pulls a lot of junk out of my 120g display!

I would go slow until you know your skimmer.....nice skimmer by the way:)Skimmers can take awhile to fully break in some faster than others lots of different factors.

I'm looking for an elbow, to put on the output so water isn't splashing on the surface. I emailed SWC and they said they don't carry any of those parts. Does anyone know where I can get an elbow locally? It's metric, slightly bigger than 1 1/2".

It's 7 inches. According to their specs, it should be 6-8. I have a drawing where it shows the elbow, I bought it used and it's missing.

Thanks for all the input guys. I sanded a schedule 40 1 1/2 in. elbow to fit the metric pipe and it's definitely a lot quieter. It looks tacky, but it'll do until I can get the correct elbow.
