Ive been reefing for a while, had a bigger tank back in the metal halide days...this is when t5's were just starting to get on the scene.. I had nothing but great results with mh but the cost to run them was crazy..light+chiller=$$$
So quit the hobby, came back because of the new led lights that use up way less electricity, no chiller needed either. To get to the point, I started my fusion 20 in may this year and over it i have a radion g2, happy with color and growth, nothing like when i had mh, but my pockets dont hurt as much. To all the die hard SPS guys that say t5 is the way, I agree it gives great results but the overall factor needs to be considered (color+efficiency+temperature control) also feel that feeding and parameters is a major part of color..just my 0.2$

I don't think anyone said that LED's don't grow corals Emac909. You obviously are one of LED's success stories and that is great growth. Personally, I have never had great luck with growing SPS with them, and it appears I am not alone. As has been said the hit and miss from one person to another may be due to the numerous variables involved with having so much controllability in todays LED fixtures. I love how brainless T5 is, and I am not left wondering if I am providing enough intensity of one LED spectrum to another. I will say that a hybrid T5/LED fixture sounds nice though. I do miss my moon cycles :)

I've never ran leds alone due many mix reviews on them. Ive been running a t5/led combo light for almost a year now and i recently upgraded my par 38 to a kessil A350. I couldnt be happier with my coral color/growth
Heres my ghetto t5/kessil led fixture i recently built.

Its a gutted aquaticlife 4 bulb t5
(18w per bulb)
I managed to save the built in timer on the t5's and installed the kessil right in the middle. Im happy with the way it looks. My corals are loving it.
