Has anyone ever had an achillies and powder blue tang co-exist in the same tank less than 180 gallons?

I have a purple, sohal, and clown coexist in a 180. Does that count for anything? Also I really wouldn't say coexistwell.
The purple and clown just know to stay out of the sohals way.

i dont know why people say sohals are so mean. when i had my sohal, and powder blue. powder blue was still the king of the tank.

Well I have a 180 gallon with a powder blue, purple, yellow and pacific blue. I have an achilles in quarantine with a vendor and hopefully the gang won't do in this very expensive guy. Waiting for the middle of next month to recieve the achilles, so I'll give an update after that.

My clown is an A-hole

I think different fish in different environments will have different personalities. I think if u put ur bad arse PBT in my tank, my clown would destroy him. But if u put my clown in ur tank, the opposite would happen.

O.K.,

I'm a Tang newby as well. I'd like to eventually put a yellow, purple and kole tang in my tank. I know from what I have read that this should be done at the same time, and I will be getting the smallest ones I can find. What do you all think?

Thanks,

Mike

I've seen yellow n purples coexist quite frequently. Seems they are the tangs that can actually be the same species and get along. Not sure about the kole though. I'd try it. Worse case you'll be posting a FS thread on him.

My tank is 180g and I have both the Powder Blue and the Achilles getting along just fine. When I first introduced Blue, Achilles went straight at him. I over feed for a few weeks, watched them closely, and fatten up Blue in quarantine. All said and done, they are happy together. It does help that Sohal and Purple distract the Achilles.

Smaller than 180 can probably be done, but I wouldn't recommend. I often wish my tank was a 300 gallon to give them more space to swim.

Good luck Sanchito!

I don't know much about kole tangs, but in my 120 I have 3 tangs: purple, blue hippo, and sailfin. They don't fight, even though sometimes they swim into each other. The sailfin and my foxface always hang out together, whereas the blue and purple are each loners, more or less.

When I put nori on the veggie clip, they take turns eating at it. Sailfin gets in first, blue hippo sneaks in bites between the sailfin's, while the purple just simply gets the leftovers.

i had a chevron, purple, 2 yellow, tonomi tang, with no problem. powder blue and achillies problem. would like to revisit the achillies and powder blue one day. since we are adding our other ones, sohal, lieutenat, orange shoulder, yellow belly blue tang and sailfin. except for the sailfin and sohal maybe they rest in peace.

have a desi, sailfin, sohal, naso, kole, hippo, scopas, purple, and yellow in a 300 gal. sohal mostly picks on the sailfin , but the sail fin is larger.. Most of the time not too bad. They will break coral tips at times
