Don't want to sound negative bud but they will charge you much more then just $200. I burned a spot on my carpet once and they charged to replace the whole carpet in the room lol so I lost my deposit plus got charged! Just a heads up

I do management for apartments also and sometimes they will send you a bill for the damages if they exceed your security deposit amount. They might let it go depending on how long you have lived there and how old the carpet is. Good luck man! It almost seems like you spilled water and it went under the stand then just rotted there.

If u have skills u can go to an automotive paint shop, they sell carpet paint. I've used it in the past on stains in cars and I'm my own home. If u don't know how to paint I would recommend u don't try it then. Another alternative is to have a carpenter cut the section out. He can lay a new patch and blend it in. I know I had a 180g of reef tank spilled onto my carpet and the misses at the time couldn't even tell.

I would definitely try oxy clean, clorox 2 might do the trick as well. There's also a product called soil love (little green bottle) that works a lot better than bleach

They have all 3 at the grocery store. You can also pick up soil love from the 99 cent store I think. It works pretty good. I've gotten some nasty stains out of things with it.

My wife uses that soil love thing. its a small bottle probably around 16oz or so. She always uses it so it must work, lol.
