is that a branching cyphastreas next to the chalice? frags?
Good eyes. That is a branching cyphastrea. Most of it covered by a colony of palys I don't know the name of. Came from Chung (@Xaznkewlguyx). May be able to cut an extra since I have to cut one for Chung! hahaha!

One of the most underrated corals ever in my opinion.

Thank you sir!

I know there are a few versions out there and that's the one I have. What do you think these are called and would you be able to give me a dead positive ID on them? Thanks
Its a morph for sure. Don't know the exact name since its a morph but definitely not bowsers..

Any zoos expert care to chime in? :)

I can only think of a couple zoos aficionados that have seen it in person.

Hahaha! These came from the ones I posted. Now I feel like price should be higher since they are confirmed :)

Anyway, I'm pretty sure it's a higher light loving piece after it's been all over the place in the tank. It's been on the tank floor for the past few month getting shaded by the Purple Monster so I don't think getting the amount of light it deserves.

If anyone wants the other ones they belong to ngvu1, the evil Vu. Thanks dude!

Wait so you fragged it from the second picture and the picture on top is not the same?

Nope. Different pictures but same original colony. Good example of what lighting, flow, and tank parameters differences can do.

I should also note that both are under T5.

You could have two zoanthids in the same tank and have radically different results because of interactions with different mutagens. For example UV light can alter the DNA at point dimers or pyrimidine dimers and that can change it's genetic code or genotype which may not be reversed and that affects it's phenotype (gene expression). Even if you moved that coral back into the original tank you cannot reverse the dimers back to their original state. Other factors could change the genes as well including additives, stress, and a whole host of other factors.
