Temp controllers

Curious when you set say an apex controller to a temp, its not constantly toggling the heater off/on. If you set it at 77 and the temp starts slowly dropping, what temp does it kick back on at?

I have mine set to on at 77.3 and off at 77.8 it doesn't constantly toggle on and off. If I had a scale using the iPhone it'll show that the heater is on for a short period and off for a longer period. I'm using a 300 watt heater on a 25g tank

Cool. Have my Raspberry Pi set up controlling the heater and lights. Needed to get an Idea how to write the code. It's finished now and running perfect. 300w in a 55g. Runs actinics, 10k's and moonlights too. Next step is to write a web interface and touchscreen interface for it!
