I'm thinking of other ways to finish a stand being built rather than just painting or staining and thought covering it with textured wallpaper might look pretty good. I foresee the only issue might be moisture from splashes and drips but I think if I'm diligent in wiping it quickly it should be fine. The stand is based on the ADA style so it's pretty much flat all around so it should be easy to cover.

I did a google search for stands but didn't see any that used wallpaper. But here are some wallpaper examples I think would look good.

Good idea. I'm afraid the glue will eventually come off and the wall paper will start peeling. I'm thinking about using my laminTe so the tank can match my floors.
That's what I'm worried about too but I think if I roll on a thin layer of strong glue it should be ok. I know wallpaper glue will probably not hold on for very long.
