The system has been running since March and its had fish and coral since April. We moved into a new house at the beginning of the year and I lucked out that we had a great "fish tank wall" that was right up against the garage. Soooo, the tank and all the equipment are in the garage and we cut a viewing window out of the wall and framed in the tank. The tanks were built by CAD Lights and I fabricated the stand out 1 1/2" 3/16th wall square tube.

720 gallon display 130 x 40 x 32
180 gallon sump
60 gallon frag tank
AquaMaxx Cone 7 skimmer
Maxspect Razor R420R 300w x 4
Vortech mp60 x 2
Super Reef Octopus CR5000D 8" Calcium Reactor

Here's a FTS, with my munchkin for size reference

and here's a shot from the garage side

This skimmer is a beast but the 16" collection cup is a bit** to handle when it gets full!

The Maxpect ballasts are cool, the fans put off an "ocean noise" so it sounds pretty cool in my garage

Amazing!!! Gorgeous! Would love to see a video of the display tank. Another TOTM. What type of livestock? Can you elaborate more on your filtration?

Wow!!! Is there a build thread? The tank looks really mature. Not too many frags in there.

Thanks!.....Its a mixed reef, if it was up to me it would be all sps, but one of the reasons my wife was OK with letting me go so big was me letting her pick stuff she likes too (I've been a coral nazi in the past), hence all the zoas, plays and news. Fish wise I went with cheap hardy fish, lots of anthers tangs and wrasse. My two favorite fish are our Marine Beta (I've been keeping reefs for 18 years and I've had Marine Beta in every tank except my 50g cube because it doesn't have any caves or archways for him) and the Peppermint Hog, don't know why, just have always liked them.

Filtration wise I am running the skimmer, filter socks (I normally don't run them but since the tank is in the garage its easy to change and I don't have to worry about dripping water) and I decided to give bio-pellets a try. Thats it, I still don't run carbon or GFO on my tanks and I may take the bio pellets offline, I'm not seeing any better color with my sps than I have had in the past and a lot of my LPS aren't very happy (I'm assuming its due to a lack of nutrients caused by the pellets, but thats just a guess)
