Hello there everyone.i wanted to know if anyone has ever gone to the mystic reef? I used to buy fish from petworld but there was a thread that had just bad stuff to say about petworld and how they treat their fish? The mystic reef looks like a great place and I would like to know how they treat their fish and if they have a great variety of saltwater fishes. I want to try new stores near San Bernardino other than petworld. Thanks in advance

i like mystic reef myself. they have a ton of frags. people may chime in about how they don't the way the corals price changes with the wind but I feel its the more you buy the better the deal kinda thing. fish selection is on the smaller side but they have good inverts and other stuff aswell.

What about global aquaticsi have heard that place is big.
Place is super huge. Largest fish store I ever visited in all of southern California. Wholesale type feel. This place has huge potential however I never know why they dont change their business model. Prices are on the high, lots of fish but just basic marine fish. Basic corals. Again prices are quite high and store is empty of customers everytime I visit. This place has been open at least 7 years but dont know how they stay in business.

Fontana Tropical Fish - across the street from Kaiser. Fish and corals are on the high side. Basic corals, fair fish selection. Im assuming prices are high because its next to Kaiser where doctors could afford the high prices.

Jans Tropical Fish (Montclair)- fair to good LPS selection. Small SPS selection, good fish selection. Prices can be quite low for some fish and average price for others.

I am from San B. Live in rancho now. People have their own opinions about every store and they are all different. Pet world seems to be stepping their game up, I have a super healthy flame hawk in my tank that I got for $30 and a good looking torch that was only $25. Global aquatics is a huge building but really has a small selection, mostly empty tanks and the smallest coral selection. They do have a friendly staff though. Tropical reef is right next to my house, been going there since I started. He picks up corals and fish every other Monday so there is always something new. It's not the biggest store but still has a good selection. Also, he has corals for any budget. A $10 frag section, $20 frag section and a $40 section which usually has some big pieces. Make the drive down to Orange County/ Fullerton area one day and you can hit a few shops in one day. Igotcorals in Fullerton is picking up fast, Bryan is nice and really helpful, they also have corals for any budget. Reef lounge is only about 5 minutes away, a bit pricier but worth the trip, large and cool setup. There's a few more in Orange county but they are a bit further.

Mystic reef- you have to have an idea of what things are really worth to negotiate with them
Treasure of the sea - is a +1 good fish and good amount of coral very helpful guy (got lucky with a powder blue from here )
Global aquatics - +1 on the high side for prices on fish

I stopped buying from them but Petco in Redlands has SW fish and some overpriced corals. I like Mystic but have had trouble with their fish staying alive.

Vince at Fish Frenzy in Temecula is cool.

There's Salties in Riverside. I've never bought there but they do have SW fish.

Jeremy changes prices whenever he wants, I went there once for pricing on some fish , few days later price changed , I was about to walked out and he told me to wait, and why I was leaving I explain , we negotiate the original price, then he smoked me when I payed with a credit car. He charged me $2 for for credit card freaking crazy a business at this level shouldn't charge **** for CC never going back!!
