Any of you guys and gals have an anemone in a small nano tank and have had it for a while successfully? What type of lighting? I would like to relocate my clown pair to a small nano, like 12 gallons, and definitely would want a rbta with them.

Honestly, if the nem would live under PC's I would prefer that, or if I found a cheap nano with an led modded hood. I don't want a halide over a small tank for a variety of reasons.

Any pics of your setup? Examples of some tanks? That would be cool too!

I don't want to change the water that often at all, maybe once a month if possible. I want this to be a very simple tank so the extra work doesn't get old quickly.

Anyone have a small nano for a SUPER DEAL? Let me know!

I tried a gbta and a sebae in my 29 biocube with led lighting (marineland reef ready 18") they did not make it. I think MH is the only way to go, personally.

you'd need to do a lot water changes. I tried with an AP12, 150w MH viper and a remora skimmer and wasn't able to. I was also change 3 - 5g a week.

I'm thinking if I can find a super cheap nano I will give it a shot. I just would really like a more calm tank for my clowns to feel better at home. My poor little gladiator stays in the back corners of the tank all day and night. The female naked occellaris gets out with the crew tho. I don't want an RBTA in my tank... taking enough risk with the carpet.

And when I say cheap I mean a really nice nano, all the parts, at an unbelievable price?!?! Well I can dream anyway. Anyone have one lying around?

should of bought that globe tank would had been perfect for a nem and clowns
Which one is that again?

I may wait for the next Marine Depot sidewalk sale.

Oh but if anyone has one and wants to trade I'd be willing to part with a nice ORA deresa clam, a frag of neon green toadstool, and a bit of cash.

From what I've experienced and read, I believe RBTAs prefer the lower PCs over MH and LED. My nem used to bulb up and looked great under PC. After I upgraded to LED, it got stringy and never bulbed up again. It was healthy, grew huge, and looked good, I just prefer the bulbs.

No one seems to know why or how to get them to bulb. But I think it has to do with increasing surface area to soak up more light, under lower light conditions. Under strong lights, there's no need to bulb up so they relax and go limp. I don't know. Makes sense, if you don't think about it.

karensroseanemones.net is pretty good.

Get a small one, and don't feed too too often, it'll be fine.

Thanks for the tips.

Wasn't there a nano one here for $150 with stand??
Ha maybe... I was thinking a 12g somewhere in the neighborhood of $60 bucks or so. Wishful thinking? I see them on the cheap every once in a while. I'm not in any rush these clowns have been with me for quite a while now.
