I'm also building my own atm... I've nextreef reactor as well and 4" acrylic tubing to build from scratch.. I bought all kinds of fittings (elbow, T's, union, etc) cost me not too cheap but way cheaper then any BP Reactor sellers. I just can't justify how one pump and pvc, acrylic can cost over $300.00??? Once I finish making one from scratch, i'd sell it around $120.00 with the pump to cover my cost.
the expensive part might be the acrylic tubing which might run around $30 a foot.

I've all the parts now and glues too... I got most my items from Amazon and home depot. Amazon is pretty cheap on ball valve, uniseal, glues etc. I also got Sicce 1.0 pump from amazon too. the thing is, I'm building this one time and I had to buy whole glues that alone cost me almost $20.00 plus I need to purchase a step drill bit to drill holes on the tube that along cost over $40.00 from the hardware store.. that's expensive for one time use... so, I think I'll use it once and return it. :( Lows has better pvc selection IMO for DIY

Check harbor frieght for cheap prices on step drills. They are always nice to have floating around for other projects. What glue did u have to buy??

My parts list is

-pump
-1/2" pvc pipe and fittings
-2x 1/2" uniseals
-1/2" spears sch80 ball valve
-pvc glue

I can use strainer on the intake for the top and pellets are on the bottom mostly. Few are lighter and floating around but it goes no where. I can also use nextreef screen plate on the top It fits perfect.
