Read about brs reef saver, real reef rock and rock 2.1. Sounds like a great but the price is so much higher and they seem to weigh more than real rock. I also like the look of real pukani. Any lfs in OC carry these rocks in stock so I could compare them?

there was this guy on face book spray painting his rock with that fusion paint... i'm sure it's reef safe once completely dried/cured.... he used a dark purple and light purple and it turned out very nice IMO...

people were giving him chet on facebook, but i thought it was cool... the fake painted stuff is super heavy... like it's made of concrete... LOL... and cost more than rock covered in real coraline... hahhaa...

The artificial rock that I have seen seemed to be very heavy and dense. I like more porous Rock for better bio filtration

image.jpg Found some "real reef rock" at sandbar pets in mission Viejo. Got a 8lb chunk to try out $6/lb. Has a real nice flat bottom, purple coloring looks good. Lots of nook and crannies. Looks like it could be prone to crumbling as there were lots of small pieces on the bottom of the tank.

I went a different route and got a structure from The Alternative Reef. I like how open it is but, I think I am going to have trouble with corals growing into each other at some point.
