I plan to have lot of LR and stuff in the tank and hopefully pods and mysis will be its main food supply. Baby mollies will be its backup that are gutloaded. Once its larger I plan on SW shrimp and frozen but the hardest part I have is looking for live food that is small enough. Im really temped up move it to my 30gal once all the frag and most of the powerhead is out of the tank since that tank has lots of pod and mysis. That tank can probably self feed the angler for a while.

Another Update:

Last night I was looking at it and it looks like it has recently eatten some pod or mysis since it look feed but was hard to tell but notice a rounder belly or might have been in a position that made it look that way.

Today I moved the little guy to my 30 gal tank after removing all corals that can string it. Im hoping I don't have to worry about feeding him at this size since there are more then enough mysis and pods swimming all over the place. The coral was moved to my 30 gal frag tank that is new and recently setup.

I have a few anglers myself. I have found that live brine shrimp works great on the little guys. The smallest I've ever started off with was about 3/4 of an inch. I've had yellow / black / orange / red / pink/cream / bright green colored ones most I've either traded or sold off. I still have the pink&cream and the orange one. Here is a shot of my orange in my old tank. he is approximately 10.5 inches from end to end.

rockbender,

Nice looking angler there. Brine shrimp would have been help in feeding but no one carries it around me that I could find or was way way overpriced.

Are those cleaner shrimps that I see to the right and above the tail? If so he didn't go after them? or is it just a matter of time before he does?

The angler is still in the 30 with 2 peppermint shrimp. I haven't feed my angler direct because its still small guess 3/8 to also half an inch. I feed tank frozen mysis which the live mysis eats and my angler has been eatting those.

I have plans to take upday photos but its still too small for ID propbably.

I have only had 1 angler eat a cleaner shrimp I was pouring the cleaners back into the tank and 1 of them swam in a hurry straight into his mouth. For over 2 years I have never had an Angler eat a cleaner shrimp. I will dig up another pic of my angler with 3 cleaners on him. I found a wholesaler who sales the live brine shrimp dirt cheap, It's inmy favorites somewhere.

i would be interested in the brine shrimp source as well...

If there was a way to do a group buy, I would be interested...

I can get a quart bag with BS in it for five bucks from my lfs

that is abut a week supply for me... ( one or two turkey baster squirts per day...)

well here is one of my red one. I no longer have him. he went to a new home about a month ago.
Here is also a pic of my yellow angler which was a good 6" in length but passed he ate a stingray as he was swallowing him the stingray poked him full of holes he lasted about a weekafter the altercation then he died.

That is how we found out the anglers were eating the stingray we were looking inside the tank then we noticed the angler stalking the smaller stingray which was about 4 inches around + the stinger. I called my better half over and when I looked back the stingray was gone. The next day I noticed about 4 good size punctures 1 went in 1 side and came out the other. SO whoever says anglers aren't tuff are wrong. when I found him dead MY anemoney had wrapped itself around and was trying to eat him so I pulled him out. IT was sad but pretty cool!!!!
You can actually see 1 of the holes in the pic
