So, Like the title says, i'm thinking about re doing my rock work, but thinking about using BRS Reef saver rock. I would like to take out all my old rock and replace with the dry rock. But don't want a huge cycle killing everything. Thinking about putting as much as I can of my old rock in sump, and any remaining, pile against rear glass. Then re scape with new rock.

Will this work, or should I just forget the idea .....

Thanks !

It could work out okay but I'd recommend also adding bacteria in a bottle just in case.

Your best bet would be to add them little by little. So maybe rescape a third of the tank at a time. Then the new rock will have a chance to get populated and the old rock won't be so much that it won't fit in your sump. Then after a week or so, repeat until it's all replaced.

That's a lot of rock replacement. Adding rock shouldn't be a problem if you do it slowly. Also bacteria in a bottle works great!
