topless nano24w/minilumenarc. Is 10" from top of water high enough? 175wt xm 20k. Was thinking about mounting 28wt actininc pc under the mogul base and using 14k for better growth.Let me know what you think.

bak pak 2R going on right now. Thanks to fishtaco for picking up a Ponape BN from Richard. SteveOhh gave me a great deal on reflector & bulbs. Such a big difference from the POS ebay bulb I started with.

Looks good. Yeah a 14k hamilton with a pc would look better. I never liked the 20k xm, way to blue.

about the lighting dilemma... EXACTLY same situation i'm having., same bulbs too!
xm 20k too blue huh? i always wanted to try it out.
i have a radium 20k. ..it's not blue enough! for me

("blue" in a sense to make corals pop, not to dim)

I love the blue,just trying to get the best growth out of my sps. Acros seem like they'r on the snooze button. Ima c how we do this month w/ the xm. My Palmer blue has finally started to grow vertical so hopefully the light & reflector will do the trick. I think Im gonna give those warner aminos a try also.
