Try a third test and see. Both those number are pretty low though, I know the trident gives accurate results within a range. You may be out of that range.

chances are it’s a wacky test, agree with Jose the calcium level is lower than normal and tridents are known to
Test a bit wacky when the levels get low. But just incase:
When was the last time you calibrated?
How much reagent is left in the bottle ?

How long have you had your Trident for??

If you have had for a while - these false reading happens when the testing tube is dirty and stained. This affects the light penetrating through the tube and causes a misreading. You’ll have to take apart your Trident and clean the tube. It’s fairly simple - there’s a a few YouTube videos showing you how.

What are you calibrating it against? Are you using the Neptune reagents or ABC reagents? Are you dosing near or same time the Neptune tube intake?

For me, I trust my Hanna or Salifert checker results more than my Trident. So I always independently test Calc, Alk and Mag with the Hanna/Salifert test kits for my calibration, and use that as my calibration input into Trident. You might want to test the calibration fluid with the test kits and trident, and see which one is correct.

Believe it or not I find an API test pretty accurate. I use it all the time. If something seems out of wack I will pull out the Hanna or Red Sea. It will be an inexpensive way to see which one is close and which one you will have to address.

Agree with Jimbo. My trident was always off from my Hanna and Salifert test kits. I calibrate using the Hanna and Salifert test kit numbers because I trust those to be more accurate then the calibration solution provided with the reagents. Ever since doing this my Trident is pretty spot on when I compare tests with my other test kits.

You would just use the test results from your Hanna or whatever other kits you are using for dkh, ca & mg and enter those values instead of the calibration fluid values on the white bottle that comes with the trident reagents. Just leave your intake line off the trident in the normal spot where you typically have it when calibrating too and just enter the values during the calibration from your test kits you trust.

Have you tested your alk with another test kit to compare to the Trident? What is the expiration date on the reagents? I've only had weird calcium readings with the Trident towards the end of the reagent. It usually drifts up and not down for me. You could try to flush the back feed line out on the Trident.
