Hello reefers!

Want to get some opinion on All For Reef if anyone uses it and how it is working for y’all in your tank? Currently I’m using Red Sea ABC and kind of want to try out all for reef.

Thank you.

I love AFR, especially for tanks 60g or less or lightly stocked larger tanks. I think it's an awesome solution for keeping nano systems. Combined with a water change schedule (bi-weekly or once a month) you have a pretty easy way of maintaining chemistry.

I am using AFR on 28G nano. works great due to simplicity. you could buy the powder and mix yourself to save a few bucks.

i transitioned from redsea to a4r and everything has been a lot more stable. the only down side for me was my corals consume more mag and cal than the a4r could supply without having to raise the alk too much to compensate for it. i had to buy separate tropic marin cal and mag supplements but it’s worth it

you mixed the cal & mag to the AFR mixture to increase the cal & mag level? Or you just create separate solutions then dose them manually?

i mix separate solutions of each whenever needed. might be possible to add them in the a4r but wouldnt be too sure how to go about it or if there’d be some type of chemical reaction from it

I switched over from redsea aswel been using it for 2 months now great results and very simple to use. If you have a larger system I would go with the powder form and mix with rodi water alot cheaper than buying the 1L premixed bottles

Also, you adjust the dosage based on your calcium levels, not alkalinity. It’s a formate, so alkalinity is bio available as soon as it enters the water, but may not show on test kits. If you need to add magnesium, just add TM bio magnesium separately.

Thanks for the replies and insight. Much appreciated it. I have a 40 gallon I’ve been doing a lot of research on it and nothing but good review online. So I just want to make sure before taking the dive.

I order the powder one as well just to mix it myself and like you said save a few bucks.

Love it. Not too expensive for smaller tanks imo

On my 25g I was dosing 12ml a day. I am now dosing less on my new tank since my sps didn’t survive the move

Instructions:

How to use: Start with a daily dose of 5 ml of ALL-FOR-REEF per 100 litres (26 US-gal) of aquarium system volume. Increase the daily dosage – by continuous control of the alkalinity – weekly by 2.5 ml per 100 litres (26 US-gal) of aquarium system volume, until a constant carbonate hardness of 7 to 9 °dH is reached.
