I'm thinking of getting two actinic strips for sunrise, sunset. Not to supplement the t5s, just to add some hours of viewing with out cooking my tank. Just curious if anyones used the actinics, and if so do they give off that all blue led fluorescent look? Im thinking i'll put 1 on each side of the 6 bulb fixture, over my 100g.

I know reefbrite xho are the sheeznit, but I don't think I need any added par or spectrum. Tank looks good with just the t5 fired up, but that's only 8 hours a day, I need more!

They are good for night viewing and make coral pop just not as good as the RB.

I used the 36" 8kKelvin x3 for my fuge and it worked great. Superbright, looked like fluorescent flooding because the diodes were so close together. To get the most light i just rested them on the upper tank rim facing in, as they are also water proof (except for their daisy chain connector). The metal top heatsinks run hot.

I got 1 actinic from MD by their mistake. it pretty much looked like my AI blues without the spotlightibg as it had low par. I tried returning it to MD but they didnt want it back. So i gave it to another reefer as karma.

Thanks for that. I've been looking around for threads everywhere and couldn't find anything on the for night viewing.
I got a great nighttime viewing enjoyment 36" RB TechLED with your name all over it..
Nice! Shoot me a pm and let me know what you want for it. My fixture is 48 but maybe it'll have the spread.

That's pretty much what I'm looking for. I like my AI sol pop when it went into all blues. It sounds like that are a valid option for me.

Thanks everyone.
