I saw couple nice derasas too. but they were all sold. one of them has nice purple rim on the edge of the skirt. I think their booth was next to SCRK booth.

Nice pick!

I got like a 2" maxima with sick colors. I'll post pics later. I cant get my mind off the black/gold maxima's, too expensive for my blood.

Here's the one i got. Its a baby lol. Sorry for the bad pic, I need to invest for a camera and do homework on aquarium photography. The color is different shades of blue/purple and white and the white parts glow. This pic does not do any justice at all...

Different species of clams like to be in different locations.

Deresas are sand dwellers, croceas are rock dwellers, maximas rock, and sqammies both I think.

Ive had croceas on the sand with no problems in my experience.

My crocea likes the bottom. It keeps on jumping off the rock somehow lol. My 2 maxima's are on the mid tank. I run 2x 150w MH's. Somehow my tank has high Ca and I dont even dose so they love it (i think) lol.

In the wild, croceas are always on rock. They are rock-borers and will burrow into the rock by attaching their byssal threads and then rocking back and forth so they grind the rock away beneath them. When you see them on the reef they never protrude above the surface of the rock - you have to chisel the rock to get them loose.
