Looking for one of these for a 50G cube. Have an Apex so not sure which would be better.

Thanks!

How thick is ur glass? mp10's aren't rated for anything thicker than 1/2". My tank is 5/8" and they'll drop if I crank it up full blast. Also 6095 u'll need the VDM to control the tunze. That's extra $100

My glass is 3/8" i believe looking at Cadlights website.

I have the full Apex, I thought that came with variable speed ports to control something like the tunze?

ok then you should be good to go w/ tunze. Such a tough decision but Vortech can be louder but no wires in the tank or added heat. Also, most likely will need servicing more often than tunze. I'm thinking of transitioning to Tunze from my vortechs

Yeah, it's a tough choice to make when choosing between the tunze or vortech pump. In my case, I have both running in my tank. :) But either way, you can't go wrong.

On a 50g cube, i would go with the MP10. Ya it will be louder, but the Tunze will take up a lot of real estate and that tank is already pretty tight. (24x24x24?). I have both in my tank, and they both have their pros and cons...in a bigger tank, I think it's good to have 1 of both.

I have both as well the size is overkill for a 50g Cube on that Tunze model, I agree with SchnitzelReef. Also the wave pattern is nice on the Vortech can't go wrong I have one in my shallow tank 48x30x12.

Thanks for all the input everyone. Sounds like the Vortech.

Does anyone have a used MP10WES for a good price?
