Hi guys,

I just bought a Tunze Osmolator 3155 and am dosing Kalk inside my ATO, however, my pump will not suck up the Kalk. It will suck up R/O by itself, but not with the Kalk. What is the fix here or what do you guys think is the problem?

You might wanna read some more how to dose alk... the white stuff is not something you wanna be adding straight to your tank. Hope you are testing as well. Is there a reason why you dosing kalk?

After you mixed the kalk and let the mix clear up, whatever is settled on the bottom you don't want that in you tank. You should raise the pump up so it doesn't pump it into you tank

Kalkwasser (or lime water) it the water after mixing the Kalk into it. You don't want to put the stuff from the bottom. I use a little stand in my ATO container to keep it off the bottom.

Good job with the video russ.
I've got the idea from BRS and after reading from others. I didn't want to invest in a doser at the moment, so Kalk would suffice. I know how to dose Kalk dont get me wrong, this may be more of a mechanical problem, but I mixed 1 tsp Kalk for every 1 gallon of R/O in my ATO. I dont know if its because the pump isnt strong enough or what, but it isnt sucking up the Kalk Slurry so to speak. It isnt on the bottom and is hovering above on the top. Was just curious if you guys had a fix.

Thats good to know. I guess the pump isnt strong enough to carry kalk into my tank? It pumps regular R/O fine. I was just hoping someone possibly has a fix. It will whirl like it is pumping, just nothing coming out after it :/ Perhaps the return tube to the tank is too long? I didn't trim it at all. But i figured since there really is no head pressure it doesnt matter.

My Tunze pump gets kalkwasser up to my tank just fine. It has to pump about five feet up and does it well. It will definitely shorten the lifespan of the pump Bit it shouldn't be that much harder to pump kalk

I use a tunze calcium dispenser 5074 after the pump and haven't had an issue yet, before I use to mix Kalkwasser inside my ATO container and used an aqualifter pump to top off , killed two aqualifters pulling 1" from bottom of container/kalk slurry ..
